MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – South Florida rapper and radio star Trick Daddy has been released from prison for hours after the Miami Herald says he is believed to have been under the influence of cocaine and owned cocaine.
According to the arrest report, the Herald responded to a Miami-Dade police officer when a driver in a dark-colored Range Rover hit traffic signs and red lights near Southwest 128th Avenue and 42nd Street in southwest Miami-Dade on Saturday 3:20 p.m.
The report goes on to say that when the officer approached the driver’s side of the off-road vehicle, the driver appeared to be asleep, and after waking up he admitted to drinking about five drinks in a club hours earlier.
The herald reported that the driver was unable to successfully pass a sobriety test on site and that, after being taken to a police station, the officers found cocaine in a dollar bill while the suspect put his belongings in a plastic bag.
Trick Daddy, born Maurice Samuel Young in Liberty City, is known for his music. He recently brought his talents from the studio to the kitchen and opened the Sunday restaurant in Miami Gardens in September 2019.

The rapper and entrepreneur also hosts 99 JAMZ’s “The Trick N ‘Trina Morning Show”.
Trick Daddy was briefed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 7:30 a.m., the Herald reported.
