Peacock orders Punky Brewster to restart with Soleil Moon Frye

PunkyPower! Deadline confirmed on Tuesday June 4th that a restart of the popular 1984 sitcom Punky Brewster with Star is in the works Soleil Moon Frye should repeat her role as Penelope “Punky” Brewster.

“She’s back! I’m back! #Punk Power forever! Yipppeeee, ”the 42-year-old actress confirmed on Twitter.

NBCU placed an order for 10 episodes for the streaming platform Peacock.

Fans will remember the series in which charismatic and neon-loving Punky was raised by her foster father. “She was spunky and such a funny character because she was full of love and life,” said the actress. “I still keep her very close to my heart.”
