A casting director once told Lana Condor that she was more like Hello Kitty

Lana Condor, the leading actress of Netflix To All the Boys, whom I previously loved, has been speaking in films since her cast in X-Men: Apocolypse 2016, but apparently a casting director thought she would be better at acting if she could mimicking the mannerisms of a cat without a mouth.

Condor didn’t tell Teen Vogue what she was auditioning for when she got this instruction, but says she didn’t take it:

“I remember when she said that I said, ‘I don’t know what you mean. ‘have a mouth. As a woman, I want me to be more like Hello Kitty, but she has no voice. It is so insulting to me. “

Hello Kitty not only has no mouth, but also no real traits, apart from being cute and the product of a Japanese company. Hello Kitty’s biography, however, states that she was born in England and is a Scorpio with Type A blood. However, I suspect that casting director Condor has not asked to behave like an English scorpion in need of a type A blood transfusion.
